Christmas eve day (the day before christmas)

by wude72 on December 24, 2008

I’m not a big fan of Christmas (scrooge), because it’s too much. There is too much to buy, too much to make, too many people to see. Why cant Christmas be simple (maybe somebody could take care of all the gift giving for us). We could send out a mass email that says Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays for those that the word Christmas offends) and call it good at that. What about somebody setting up something that you send money to and they figure who is naughty or nice.

I wasn’t always like this, when I was younger Christmas was really cool. Santa would bring cool presents (then my friends and I would compare to see who had the best), grandma’s and grandpa’s would call to find out what you got. There were school plays to get you in the spirit. Everybody was talking about what Santa was going to bring them. From the day after Thanksgiving it was all anybody talked about.

Now days it’s the same, but I’ve gotten used to all the hype. What if there was not so much glitz and whatnot. Maybe it could just be a simple holiday (like Columbus Day).

I think Christmas just tries too hard to be cool, Christmas should just be it’s self.

Ahhhh the simple life. We all long for it. I think we should all just start doing it.
I have three teenagers and we aren’t hippies, but we don’t wear designer clothes and I’ve never owned a Prada bag or italian leather shoes.
It’s all perceived value anyway. I’d much rather wear a scarf that my best friend made for me than some lady named Vera Wang.
